If you're planning on changing your vehicle, go to the Ticker app for a new quote. You can then pay or process your refund in the app and we'll update your documents.

You can move your Ticker device yourself.

Moving your Ticker device to a new vehicle

For stick-on devices:

  • We'll send you a new adhesive ring to make sure it sticks well

  • Take your stick-on Ticker device off your old windscreen

  • Stick your Ticker device to your new windscreen with the new adhesive ring

For plug-in devices:

Take your plug-in device out of the old vehicle and plug it in to the new vehicle's Onboard Diagnostics (OBD) port. We'll send instructions for where that is, but you can also check your vehicle's manual.

Your car on the Motor Insurance Database

The Motor Insurance Database is where every insured vehicle appears. Police use it when they scan reg numbers, to check if a vehicle has insurance.

โ€‹If you're asked about your insurance by police

Up until the time you've chosen to switch your vehicle on the policy, your old vehicle is still insured. However, the Motor Insurance Database will already show your new vehicle.

Your insurance documents in the Ticker app will show that you're insured on your old vehicle until your chosen time to switch. The police will understand the situation, but can start a chat with us if they need further information.
