Ticker doesn't allow modifications other than for disabilities, air conditioning, fog lights, parking sensors and tow bars.
Modifications are changes, additions or enhancements made after your vehicle has left the factory, altering it from its original spec.
These changes can affect the car’s appearance, performance, value, or cost to repair or replace.
Modifications we cover:
Disability-relation modifications, such as hand controls or wheelchair access
Alterations made to air conditioning systems, fog lights, parking sensors and tow bars
For van insurance only: signage, roof racks and racking
We don’t cover other types of modifications, including (but not limited to):
Bodywork changes such as spoilers, body kits or side skirts
Suspension or brake adjustments
Cosmetic alterations, including alloy wheels, vinyl wraps or tinted windows
Performance enhancements, such as engine or exhaust modifications
You don’t need to tell us about optional extras fitted by the manufacturer when the vehicle was new or first registered.
If you don’t know whether your vehicle has been modified, it’s worth checking its vehicle history. You must make sure all the details on your policy are correct for your insurance to be valid.
